Biografklub Danmark (Cinema Club Denmark) wanted to improve their website’s design and administrations interface, as well as improving handling of memberships, tickets etc.
Each year Biografklub Danmark changes their layout, brochures and other materials. These changes need to be reflected on the new season’s website. Therefore it was very important that the new solution made it very easy to change the design. To fulfill this requirement, Pentia developed a framework solution, where the content is created and maintained in Sitecore, while Biografklub Danmark have full control over the design elements through style sheets.
To administer Biografklubben’s members, a Windows application was developed that integrates with the website. Subscription to Biografklubben or ordering of materials is conducted via the website and then these are automatically created in the administration application.
To specify how the new administration solution should function, a mock-up system was created. Biografklub Danmark was given access to the mockup so they could test the systems functionality before it was developed. After several iterations, the mockup was corrected until the final solution specification was agreed. Following this, Pentia and Biografklub Danmark drew up the acceptance criteria that were to be used to ensure that the final delivery matched the agreed level of quality. Subsequently the development process was initiated.
When development was completed and the data transferred from the old system, the solution was thoroughly tested by Pentia against the agreed acceptance criteria. After this test phase was complete, Biografklubben received the solution to test in the same way. When the final delivery was accepted, Biografklubben, together with their design partner Xtendit, started creating the content for the 2008 season website. The new website went online on the 1st of August 2008 and ran without any problems with over 200,000 orders handled in the first month.
